Pastor Joe Martin
Pastor Joe answered the call to full time ministry in 1999. Colossians 2:2-3 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. His desire is to do the will of God, in the power of the Holy Spirt by the name of Jesus. His passion is to help people discover Jesus as Lord and Savior. To guide believers into being mature disciples of Jesus and an active part of the Body of Believers.
Pastor Joe became an assistant pastor at Magnolia Wesleyan in Santee, CA. in 2000. In 2001 along with his wife Kim they planted Amazing Faith Christian Fellowship in the backyard of their home in Poway, CA on Nov. 11. The desire that God put on their heart as church planters was to develop a body of believers that was similar to the body of believers in Acts 2:42-47.
Joe and Kim were married in 1992. Their son Anthony was born in 1998.

I was born and raised in SoCal and I thankfully grew up in a Christian home. I’ve been told my birth was a miracle. In fact in the local newspapers I was called the ”Miracle baby of Chula Vista”. At that time (1964), being born 3 months premature and weighing 2lbs 14oz was rare to survive. I was given a 5% chance of living. Well…here I am! When I was 7 decided I wanted to be a Christian. That decision began my deep relationship with Jesus. I loved to sing and took voice lessons during junior high and high school. I toured with “The Continentals” for four summers and even was chosen to tour with their elite Orchestra group. We toured Europe and the US and I can’t even begin to tell stories of that amazing time. Besides music I have always loved to read. I enjoy books that lead me to contemplate the truths of Jesus in my life. I would fill journals with my thoughts, prayers and visions. I was married in 1985 to my husband Mark. We have 2 kids (Natalie – 1992, Jonathan 2003. In 1987 we opened one of the first compact disc stores in San Diego. We enjoyed this but eventually saw the advent of ipods and mp3’s to change the business so we “got out” before we got “put out’ of business. It was a lot of fun but hard work. We closed shop in 1995.
In 1992 I started a transcription business when Mark was then called on to staff as the outreach pastor at our church in San Diego. I became a Pastor’s wife for 11 years. I grew in my love of people and began to see the ways God could use my music, contemplation and heart to heal broken places. I had been on the worship team for years and decided I wanted to learn to play guitar.
As I learned to play the guitar God started tying together things I had written in my journals and putting them together as songs. The songs sometimes were for friends of mine, sometimes they come from ideas I heard from sermons or stories of people or from my devotions. But always they had a deep meaning and the power to reveal God’s intimate love for people.
Because I had a heart for worship, I also had worship settings to play my songs in. God began to use me as a worship leader at women’s retreats, women’s events, healing prayer ministry times and one on one with people who wanted to experience God’s love and healing through these songs. Eventually I came to understand a much larger ministry. I call it “Soaking Prayer”.
I love to come and sing over any size group of people. It amazes me every time how much God loves each of us and how desperately He longs to comfort and heal us. It’s not always pleasant, but it’s rewarding to move out of the sinful places and into the life Jesus has to offer us. I’ve seen music move people in profound ways.
My story, as a Christian, is still a work in progress. I grow and struggle each day as I learn what it truly means to serve Christ. I was 8 years old when I accepted Jesus as my savior. There have been many times throughout the years where I have leaned on my faith in Jesus Christ to get me through both triumphs and tragedies. However, in 2005, when I unexpectedly lost my mom, I had to rely on Him (and many christian friends) to carry me through a difficult season. As I look back on that time, I can see that God was always present in my time of need and he used fellow Christians to support and pray for me. I hope to be a support for others as I continue to serve God throughout my life.
God has truly blessed me with a passion to teach children. Whether it is my full time job, part-time ministry, or just spending time with family, it is truly one of the many things I enjoy in life! In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafting, singing, and traveling.
